Some might think picking up a wireless charger is an easy job, but what they don’t realize is that there is actually a lot of thought put into most of these devices. Thankfully Anker has brought their new PowerPort Wireless 5 Stand with a sleek design and nice safety features to ensure your and your phones safety.
Always buy from trusted sellers with verified reviews and trusted companies.
PowerPort Wireless 5 Stand comes in solid black color. The plastic surrounding the station doesn’t feel too cheap and the front led light only blinks slowly when it’s charging your phone. Overall a very sleek design and easy to use. One thing that many standing wireless charges miss is the ability to charge your phone when it’s laying on its side. Thankfully, Anker has taken this into consideration and you can put your phone standing or sideways and it will still load the battery.
The bottom of the charging station has some grippy rubber on the bottom of the station to ensure it doesn’t move around. Unfortunately, the charger doesn’t have that on the ledge to ensure your phone doesn’t slip away.
There is also a slight problem with the charger falling on its face if you just drop your phone on it, but again this is something that is mainly because of how it’s balanced. In normal use, it sticks well thanks to the rubber on the bottom.
Of course, when you’re choosing a wireless charging station for your phone you need to make sure that it’s supported. PowerPort Wireless 5 Stand supports:
- iPhone X
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ / S8 / S8+ / S7 / S7 edge / S6 edge+
- Note 5
- Samsung S6/S6 edge
- Google Nexus 7 (2013) / 6 / 5 / 4
- LG G2 / G3 / G6 Plus
- Lucid 2
- Lucid 3
- Optimus F5
- Optimus G Pro
- Optimus it L-05E
- Spectrum 2

As you can see, the Anker does support almost every possible phone on the market right now.
Anker has taken some extra precautions to ensure the safety of their PowerPort Wireless 5 Stand, by including overvoltage protection and temperature control. This means it will stop charging your phone if it detects any of these problems. Another important feature they’ve included is the foreign object detection meaning if you place anything metallic that isn’t your phone on the charger it simply stops charging.
Something we must mention is that Anker does provide a short USB Mini cable for the charging station, but unfortunately you’re forced to buy or use your own AC adapter for the device. For whatever reason, they have yet to move to USB Type-C port. If you don’t have an AC adapter yet we recommend checking out the Anker Elite Dual Port 24W USB Travel Wall Charger, which comes with two USB ports.
