Nintendo Switch Pro Controller review
$94.00
You’re looking for a way to get everything out of your Nintendo Switch gaming, but the controllers just don’t feel as good as in other game consoles. Thankfully Nintendo has brought out their Nintendo Switch Pro Controller on the market that fixes this problem. I do come with quite a price, but if your ready to pay that you won’t be disappointed.

You might be wondering if you should get the Nintendo Switch Pro Controler for a while and so did we. The ~80 $ (when reviewed) controller does pack a bunch of features you wish you had on the Switch itself, but the price is a bit salty for most of us. The design resembles an Xbox controller a bit with the D-Pads on left and right and USB C in the front of the controller which allows you to load the battery and use it through the wire if you have attached it to your Nintendo Switch.
There are few different types of Nintendo Switch Pro controllers like the special edition Xenoblade 2 and Splatoon 2 edition, but for now, we stuck by with the normal black one which is very stylish looking.
Setting up the controller is easy. Startup your Nintendo Switch, go to controller selection and connect the devices. It really couldn’t be more simple than this. After pairing the devices you’re ready to go and play whatever game you wish with your Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
The battery is one of the Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers strong points. Nintendo promises up to 40 hours of game time with the controller and we can honestly say you can get this time easily with the controller. It also beats those puny numbers from PS4 and Xbox One which both offer around 8 hours of game time with their wireless controllers.
The buttons on the controller feel a bit more sturdy than on the Nintendo Switch itself which is a good thing. You can really feel each press and it makes gaming much more comfortable. The only thing that doesn’t feel as good as the rest of the buttons are the digital Z -buttons on the back. Again, nothing major, but does take some time to get used to especially if you’re more used to PS4 or Xbox One controllers.
Gaming with this controller is amazing. It fits much better in your hand than your normal Switch controllers. The controller feels good in your hand, there is almost no input lag and even the motion sensor works really good. The only thing that might feel a bit of a lackluster is the rumble effect when you compare it to the original Nintendo Switch controllers.
Games we especially enjoyed playing with the controller were the Super Mario Odyssey, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Here’s what other Nintendo Switch Pro Controller users and owners say about it.
If you’re looking for something a bit sturdier and better feeling than the Joy-Cons then the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is a must pick for you. It’s 40 hour battery time and awesome feel make it almost a must get accessories for the Nintendo Switch. The only downside is really the price, but even this can be easily overlooked when you get it in your hands.
- Long battery time
- Makes Switch feel more like a real console than a portable gaming device
- Excellent D-Pad
- Expensive
- Triggers could go a bit deeper
