Mpow has brought the Mpow Flame Bluetooth headphones on the market. The headphones have really made heads turn with their overall quality and the fact that they are IPX7 waterproof certified, but are they as good as people say. In today’s review, we will try to find that out.
Always buy from trusted sellers with verified reviews and trusted companies.
Starting with the design of the Mpow Flame headphones you can instantly notice that they feel like premium headphones. The headphones have a cool dark red and black coloring.
The cable is flat so it shouldn’t get tangled as easily as a normal headphone cable does. The hook on the headphones is rubberized making it more comfortable when fitting it on. It also helps the headphones to stay on when you exercise or are on the go.
Another nice feature Mpow has taken into consideration is that the headphones are in fact IP7X meaning sweat and water shouldn’t have that much of an effect on them. Though we still can’t recommend that you go diving head first with these headphones.
What’s in the MPOW Flame package – In the package, you receive the headphones, three different sizes of earpieces to fit the headphones perfectly on yourself, EVA carrying case, instruction manual, charging cable, memory foam ear tips as well as the wire clip to fit the cable tightly behind your head better.
The right earpiece of the Mpow Flame headphones has the volume and track buttons of the top and the power as well as the play and stop buttons hidden behind the Mpow logo. A nice little touch that keeps the looks clean and simple. Under the right side earpiece, you got the USB Mini input for charging the headphones.
The battery on the Mpow Flame lasts around 7-9 hours and in our testing, we got around seven and a half hours of power when listening with high volume. For this price range, it’s pretty impressive considering even some more expensive headphones don’t manage to get that much. If you’re looking for something similar but with a bit more battery power we recommend checking out the Mpow D7 headphones which are almost the same but with 10-12 hours of battery time.
A nice feature on the headphones is that they only require around 1,5 hour to get almost fully charged for the 7-9 hour playtime. Just remember that they do not support any kind of quick charge so, don’t try it or it might break them.
As for the noise canceling the Mpow Flame doesn’t have an active noise canceling on them, but considering that they are in-ear headphones they do cancel most noise without any trouble. If you feel like having even more muffled sound, try out the memory foam tips for a better fit.
Mid-range and high pitched sounds are clear, but the bass lais heavily on how well the earbuds fit in your ear, so this is something to consider when choosing the right earpieces. If they don’t fit well the bass might sound a bit damp or underwhelming. Overall the bass has a nice deep feel to it when you get earpieces set well in your ear canal.
The microphone is average at its best, so keep this in mind if you’re considering these for a chatting. It does its job, but the sound quality is not as good as you would hope for most of the time and it depends heavily on the 4.1 Bluetooth connection.
One thing we do want to point out though is that the microphone does have cVc 6.0 (clear Voice capture) by Qualcomm that helps anyone listening to your voice, hear it better when in crowded areas or if there is a lot of background noise. A nice touch even though the overall quality is not the best.
Mpow has selected the most recent 4.1 Bluetooth for their headphones which ensures better connectivity even from further away. Connecting the Mpow Flame to your phone is simple:
- Turn on your phones Bluetooth.
- Turn on the Mpow Flame headphones
- Select the Mpow Flame from your phone
- And you’re connected.
Price History for Mpow Flame Bluetooth Headphones Waterproof IPX7, Wireless Earbuds Sport, Richer Bass HiFi Stereo...
As a conclusion, all we can say is that the Mpow Flame Bluetooth headphones got us by surprise. Their low price paired with fairly long battery life and IPX7 protection is not something you would expect at this price range. The sound quality was nice and the bass was deep when the headphones where fit well enough. Even though the microphone was not as good as some might hope, it’s a fair trade-off considering the price range and the overall quality of the product.
- IPX7 protected
- Doesn't drop or move around much when you're on the go or exercising
- Sound quality is above average
- Deep bass
- Microphone sound quality could be a bit better
