As you could expect the Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 looks more of a toy camera than an actual camera. The design is quite bulky but for some odd reason, it still fits your hands quite comfortably.
On the front, you can find the flash, button, sensors for light, the lens and next to it a mirror for selfies and the mode selector which helps you select the amount of light the shutter will let in. Thankfully the camera’s sensor will help you decide which mode is the best.
Backside you find the hatch for the film and viewfinder.
The actual batteries can be changed from the side of the camera.
On top of the camera, you can see the hole where the actual photos will be printed out.
The Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 comes in a wide variety of colors including cobalt blue, ice blue, flamingo pink, lime green and smokey white.
The actual camera shutter speed is 1/60 sec. Thanks to its new Macro Lens adapter you can even take close up photos from 35 cm to 50 cm.
As mentioned earlier the Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 doesn’t have a battery of its own but instead, it uses regular AA batteries you can find from almost any shop. This is super handy considering the camera is clearly made for a day out or just having fun with friends. This also makes it much cheaper since Fujifilm haven’t had to add an expensive battery to the camera itself.
The usual size of the Fujifilm Instax film cartridge is only 10 photos big. Not much for most of us who have gotten used to taking tens or even hundreds of pictures with their smartphones or actual cameras with an SD card of their own. Though 10 photos might sound little, changing the cartridge is easy and to be honest, a physical photo really just has something a digital one doesn’t. Being able to hold the image, put it in your photo album or just tape it on your wall is something a lot of older people remember with warmth and something more people should try.
